Transportation Design Specialist is needed to join our team in our Tallahassee office. Candidate should be comfortable in FDOT exposure and excellent knowledge of client requirements. Ability to work independently with occasional assistance from supervisor or others in a collaborative manner, to design and produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software on transportation projects, which may include roadway, site layout, stormwater, and drainage structures among others. Requires proficiency in Microstation/Geopak and good working knowledge in AutoCad, construction documents and technical knowledge. Will perform routine and complex designing assignments requiring application of standardized drawing techniques and quantity and geometry calculations. Work may also entail field investigations and inspections.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a Florida PE with 7+ years experience in the following:
- BS - Civil Engineering (from an accredited institution)
- FL – PE Licensure (or ready for licensing exam)
- 3-5+ years experience in civil/transportation design with CAD software programs.
- Strong hands on FDOT experience is critical.
- Ability to develop and build collaborative client and team relationships is essential.
- Proficient knowledge of Microstation/Geopak and AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office software required.
- Civil 3D, ICPR and Hydraflow experience is desirable.
- Requires a good working knowledge of CAD, construction documents and technical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organized documentation skills are essential.
- Project Management experience is a plus.
Position requires the ability to be outdoors for extended periods of time in a rugged terrain and the ability to comfortably carry 40 pounds.
