For years, the University of West Florida talked about a football program. In 2016, an AstroTurf competition field was installed. BDI provided site design and construction plans for the earthwork, drainage, associated utility infrastructure, lighting, the construction of a synthetic turf field, grassing, and irrigation system. Included in our efforts were provisions for a future athletic complex, utility corridor, and stadium seating.
Approximately 31,000 CY of material was moved to build the competition field on the 12-acre site. The 120-yard state-of-the-art surface serves as the primary practice for the UWF football program. It is also used as a training facility by the UWF strength and conditioning staff with all 15 intercollegiate sports.
