At BDI, we are proud to have these talented engineers on our team, working to improve our communities. Congratulations to Hilary, Christa, Jason and Ken on earning their professional engineer license.
Hilary Bauer, PE – Civil
Hilary has pursued a life of seeing her ideas take shape in the real world. She has already gained significant experience on a wide range projects including site engineering, infrastructure and stormwater management for Santa Rosa County, Holley By The Sea and Navy Federal Credit Union’s expansive headquarters in Escambia County. Bauer is a Pensacola native and sought out a career at Baskerville-Donovan for the firm’s longstanding reputation as leaders in civil engineering excellence.
“There’s lots of support to keep you learning- and lots of project opportunities. It’s really a good culture here.”
Christa DeVries, PE – Environmental
DeVries is a problem-solver, recognized for her creative solutions in helping to upgrade the Apalachicola Wastewater Treatment Plant, as well as other projects. She graduated from Iowa State University and her path to Pensacola came with a family move to Florida. She set her sights on Baskerville-Donovan, because of the firm’s longevity in the area and reputation for high-quality work. Christa is continuing her education, working toward an online master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
“We have a great team. Everyone here is intelligent and dedicated and interested in providing our clients with the best results.”
Jason Frick, PE – Civil
Jason’s path to Baskerville-Donovan began with a fateful mission trip to Haiti. After a devastating earthquake struck in 2010, Frick had a chance meeting there with a civil engineer working to rebuild the country. Though he began his career selling cars and rehabbing rental properties, Frick was inspired by his Haiti trip and returned home to enroll in the University of South Alabama engineering program, graduating in 2014.
“Everyone said Baskerville- Donovan is where you want to be. It’s a family atmosphere. At BDI, I can do wetland permitting, build bridges – the doors are open. We touch every facet of civil engineering.”
Ken Self, PE – Environmental
Life as an engineer for Ken Self began in a drafting class at Tate High School. It was encourage-ment from his older brother that led him to Auburn University’s engineering program and a career at Baskerville-Donovan. He says it was the best deci-sion he’s made. Self has helped communities across Northwest Florida realize significant returns on investment at wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, and for customers including the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority and Destin Water Users.
“At BDI, we can go after funding, start the design, oversee construction and end up saving money. We’re there on a project from the very beginning to the very end. You don’t get that at a larger firm.”
